NEW YORK – Helio Genomics said on Tuesday that it partnered with Syneos Health to drive adoption of its blood-based HelioLiver test for the early detection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The partnership is the latest for Irvine, California-based Helio, which also offers HelioLiver through a commercialization and co-branding partnership with Fulgent Genetics, inked in 2021. Earlier this year, the firm also began offering HelioLiver to providers affiliated with Quest Diagnostics.
The HelioLiver assay uses artificial intelligence approaches to detect HCC through cell-free DNA methylation patterns, protein biomarkers, and patient demographics.
“Partnering with Syneos Health represents a major leap forward in our commercialization strategy and de-risks the path to broad market adoption of HelioLiver,” Bharat Tewarie, CEO of Helio Genomics, said in a statement. “Syneos Health’s decades of experience successfully building and executing commercial programs will accelerate [healthcare provider] engagement across the country.”
