Justin Chen Li, CEO of Helio Genomics, was named among five honorees at the Orange County Business Journal’s 8th annual Innovator of the Year Awards.
Nearly 300 individuals attended the Business Journal event at the Irvine Marriott on September 8, celebrating Orange County innovators who are creating game-changing ideas, processes, products, services and business models. The five honorees were selected from more than 70 nominees.
The 2022 Innovator of the Year Honorees
- Hans Keirstead, CEO of Aivita Biomedical Inc.
- Ike Kavas, founder of Ephesoft Inc.
- Benjamin Tigner, chief executive of Overair Inc.
- Justin Chen Li, CEO of Helio Genomics Inc.
- Krzysztof Palczewski, Irving H. Leopold Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of California, Irvine
The winners — which include executives at a pair of firms that have each raised over $150 million, another firm recently acquired by one of Orange County’s larger software companies, and two scientists with extensive and groundbreaking résumés — were profiled in the Business Journal’s print edition.
