Helio Genomics has appointed Parminder (Parry) Bhatia to its Board of Directors, bringing a healthcare AI leader into the company at a pivotal point in its growth.
Bhatia is Senior Vice President of Artificial Intelligence at Edwards Lifesciences and was previously Chief AI Officer at GE HealthCare, where he helped shape AI strategy across imaging and ultrasound products and contributed to the company’s Responsible AI work. Before that, he held AI and machine learning roles at Amazon, Microsoft, and Georgia Tech. He has been recognized by Modern Healthcare 40 Under 40, CDO Magazine, and Constellation Research, and holds a computer science degree from the Indian Institute of Technology and a master’s in computational science and engineering from Georgia Tech.
CEO Dr. Bharat Tewarie said Bhatia’s leadership in healthcare AI and responsible innovation will be “invaluable as Helio scales its platform” to detect cancer earlier and improve patient outcomes.
Bhatia pointed to HelioLiver as an example of how AI-powered multiomics and liquid biopsy can advance early cancer detection, starting with hepatocellular carcinoma. He noted the wider opportunity to connect biological and clinical signals through machine learning to support detection, monitoring, treatment response, and precision medicine.
The appointment reflects how central AI has become to Helio’s platform, and to the blood-based early detection work behind HelioLiver.
